Moving out last year, for an exchange semester to Israel, in addition to all the frequent traveling around that time, had got me re-thinking about what it means to feel at home and why I choose to carry along certain things. This boils down to the idea of reducing your entire life's worth and everything that you've collected to a number. One that is imposed by the limitations of modern day transportation.
I unpacked these experiences on packing and moving out through a pocket-sized zine and an illustrated comic booklet.

The prompt was to create a comic using only images. Using found ephemera and my suitcase, I designed a zine which quite literally unpacks my semester away from home.

We were then prompt to create a comic around the same theme using images + words. I incorporated visual metaphors to further the first-hand account.
